What Do You Have Left?

Dear Friend, Today in class I watched a video of Steve Jobs giving a speech at a Stanford graduation ceremony. The ironic thing is Steve Jobs, dropped out of college in his early twenties, yet years later found himself leading the technology world, and giving speeches to college grads. What I took most from his speech is his drive to follow his passion. No matter how rough it got, or how much he seemed like a failure for dropping out of school and living on his friends floors, he kept on pursuing what his heart's desires. In his speech to these Stanford graduates he stated, "you are already naked, there's no reason not to follow your heart". By this he means, we don't have anything to lose. Jobs described how as humans we live, and we all meet the inevitable...death. Thus why not live as if it's your last? That's a good question. Why do we settle for what we don't want, in a life that only lasts so long? Why don't we follow our heart, even when all the odds seem stacked against us? Technically, the odds will always be stacked against you. There are people who don't want you to succeed, then there's the personal fear you allow to rest in your heart. We fear this life coming to an end, yet we don't enjoy the journey while we are on it. My question for you my friend, is what do you have left? ~Lady

Climbing out of holes

Dear Friend, How's it going ? I tell you life will always present us with challenges. However, it is our choice in our we respond to the challenges thrown our way. Personally, I have found myself crawling in the mud on a few, wait let me be honest...many, occasions throughout the past few years!! From overcoming emotional and physical abuse, to obtaining my first degree, finding steady work, struggling with health issues and so forth, I have bee able to climb out of these holes! I do believe that mercy was on my side each time I fell into a whole, and by having faith I was able to crawl out. Remember when you find yourself in a hole, don't stay there! It's easy to feel stuck, but these are temporary emotions, not reality. Climb out!! ~Muah With Love, Lady

Take Some Time

Dear Friend, With all that's going on in the world around us, we know that life is short."All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field, the grass withers and the flowers fall," (1 Peter 1:24, NIV). There are too many days that we take for granted the time we have. It's valuable, and precious. Moments are so precious that we can never gain them back. That's why it's important to appreciate the time you spend with those around you, because you truly never know. Another point I'd like to make is that you take time with yourself. Get to know who you are, and find out what you enjoy doing the most. Because if life really is short, then why not live it doing something I love? A close friend of mine always asks me if I am doing well, and I love to reply...yes I am fine, I'm alive. In turn my friend will say, yes you are alive but are you living? There is a fine line between living and existing...so learn to live. ~With Love, Lady

It Is What It Is

Dear Friend, Have you ever heard the quote,"don't take yourself too seriously"? I love this quote, because it exemplifies exactly how we should treat ourselves. Some days you need to remember to be human, to have a little fun, laugh, and play. Norman Vincent Peale said that the, "imagination is the true magic carpet". Yes, we are always looking for the magic to happen in our lives, without just taking a moment to look within ourselves. Some days all hell does break loose, but drink a tall glass of chill. Calm down, everything works out, don't break yourself to the point that you lose all sense of humor in life just because everything is falling apart. Yes, I know I sound looney, but if I am going to lose everything, then why not at least not keep my smile? After all it's free. ~With Love, Lady

You're Not Perfect

Let me see your imperfections, the flaws that nest skin deep. Remind me that you’re human. Easily broken as porcelain hits the concrete. Let me shelter your soul in this pounding rain. You’ve worn band aids to cover old bullet wounds, instead of seeking hospice. Let me see your imperfections, the flaws that nest skin deep. If it were in my abilities, I’d suck the poison out of your heart to heal you. The venom left by life’s nasty bite, has infected you from the inside out. Yet, you hide behind a cloud, pretending to be okay. We both know you’re not. Let me see your imperfections, the flaws that nest skin deep. Remind me that you’re human. Easily broken as porcelain hits the concrete. Tribulations have clogged your perception, sprinkling their dark midst of pollution. But let’s clear the air, for then maybe the sun can be your smile. Maybe I can hold you for a little while, cover you like a gas mask to protect you from the stench. Yes that stench. The stench that left was by the carcass of fools who have infiltrated your mind. It smells so foul. Yet, I’m willing to walk over their bones, just to be with you. I’m willing to put up with apocalyptic disasters, just to nurture you. Let me see your imperfections, the flaws that nest skin deep. Remind me that you’re human. Easily broken as porcelain hits the concrete. ~With Love, Lady

Anxiety Boulders

Dear Friend, Philippians 4:6 states, "Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God". I must admit that I have been anxious to make things happen on my own instead of the allowing the doors to open. Yes, your gifts are nothing if you don't use them or push yourself towards your goals, however are you so anxious to get it done that you aren't capable of putting in that 100% ? Being in a rush mode isn't always beneficial, because you aren't truly perfecting your skills. Think of a chef in the kitchen. Imagine the chef taking his or her time, to buy the most ripe and dish worthy ingredients. Next, the chef takes his or her time to prep everything just right before throwing it all together for the most mouth watering dish you've had in your life! (Yes, as you can tell I love a good meal)! Unlike a good chef you're throwing all you have in the pot without any prep or any attention to detail, hoping that it turns out to be a delightful dish. Having an anxious spirit is so detrimental to us, because it produces that fear, worry, and doubt that people are carrying around like boulders on their shoulders. Do you really want to walk around with such heavy weight ? Personally, I do not wish to live an anxious lifestyle. If you are anxious to obtain your desires now, then you will be just as anxious about maintaining whatever you have when you receive it. Yes, work hard and put in more than enough effort, but make sure you are able to enjoy the journey while you're on it! ~ Love Lady!

Willing For A Change

Dear Friend, Do you ever see yourself doing the things in which you are fully capable of doing? Yes or no? Alot of us walk around not truly fulfilling the call that was placed on hearts. Everyone of us has our own unique gifts and talents, each to use for a specific reason. Being that you are alive and not dead you have the opportunity to do more than those bones drying up in the grave! Yet, it depends...are you willing? The Psalms says grant me a "willing spirit, to sustain me". What use is the ability to take action, when you are not "willing" to move? The change in which we seek can only happen when we are willing to allow it. To be willing, means that you are ready to let go of what was in the past, for what is in the present. Are you ready to accept the truth, whatever that truth may be and move forward? Being willing means that you are "willing", and ready to move beyond your darkest hour. Once you open your eyes and acknowledge the truth you can actually focus on climbing your mountains. To be willing is all it takes to move leaps and bounds!! With Love, ~Lady
