What Do You Have Left?
Dear Friend,
Today in class I watched a video of Steve Jobs giving a speech at a Stanford graduation ceremony. The ironic thing is Steve Jobs, dropped out of college in his early twenties, yet years later found himself leading the technology world, and giving speeches to college grads. What I took most from his speech is his drive to follow his passion. No matter how rough it got, or how much he seemed like a failure for dropping out of school and living on his friends floors, he kept on pursuing what his heart's desires. In his speech to these Stanford graduates he stated, "you are already naked, there's no reason not to follow your heart". By this he means, we don't have anything to lose. Jobs described how as humans we live, and we all meet the inevitable...death. Thus why not live as if it's your last? That's a good question. Why do we settle for what we don't want, in a life that only lasts so long? Why don't we follow our heart, even when all the odds seem stacked against us? Technically, the odds will always be stacked against you. There are people who don't want you to succeed, then there's the personal fear you allow to rest in your heart. We fear this life coming to an end, yet we don't enjoy the journey while we are on it. My question for you my friend, is what do you have left?

Anxiety Boulders
Dear Friend,
Philippians 4:6 states, "Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God".
I must admit that I have been anxious to make things happen on my own instead of the allowing the doors to open. Yes, your gifts are nothing if you don't use them or push yourself towards your goals, however are you so anxious to get it done that you aren't capable of putting in that 100% ? Being in a rush mode isn't always beneficial, because you aren't truly perfecting your skills. Think of a chef in the kitchen. Imagine the chef taking his or her time, to buy the most ripe and dish worthy ingredients. Next, the chef takes his or her time to prep everything just right before throwing it all together for the most mouth watering dish you've had in your life! (Yes, as you can tell I love a good meal)! Unlike a good chef you're throwing all you have in the pot without any prep or any attention to detail, hoping that it turns out to be a delightful dish. Having an anxious spirit is so detrimental to us, because it produces that fear, worry, and doubt that people are carrying around like boulders on their shoulders. Do you really want to walk around with such heavy weight ? Personally, I do not wish to live an anxious lifestyle. If you are anxious to obtain your desires now, then you will be just as anxious about maintaining whatever you have when you receive it. Yes, work hard and put in more than enough effort, but make sure you are able to enjoy the journey while you're on it!

Humble Pie...Would You Like A Slice?
Dear Friend,
In every situation, no matter how difficult it may be remain humble. Don't all the temptation to lose your cool, eat you alive. Some people and circumstances can get the best of us at times, but it's our responsibility to...well take a chill pill. There are plenty of haters out there scheming against you and will lie on you in hopes you fall. Please don't give them the pleasure in which they seek. Unfortunately, some people only thrive from the destruction of another's image. Let them speak. If you are remaining true to yourself and those around you then they will not win. Beat them at their own game by turning the other cheek, and revealing them for the monsters they are. Life's too short for all of that drama!!

Count It All Joy
Dear Friend,
Life can be a headache sometimes!! According to the National Health Interview Survey, around 75% of Americans experience some amount of stress every two weeks. Basically everyone you know is stressed out! Right now saying, that's life, is not a good enough excuse. We are all adults who understand circumstances occur that aren't always in our best interest. However, we need to learn how to calm down. Everything isn't the end of the world as it seems. I have to tell myself this on a daily basis. Yes, there is cause to stress, but stressing too much can take away any sense of stability or peace you may have. Get a grip on yourself, and learn to breathe.
~With Love, Lady
